Life has a really interesting way of throwing curveballs, helping you learn new lessons.

Speaker 1:

These last few weeks have been busy Lots of kids. Last week I didn't even get a podcast episode done, not because I didn't have the time, but because I chose not to and just kind of be present and all in with my family. But I'm going to be, I guess, vulnerable, honest, there's all sorts of sorts of words. I decided to write my weekly email before I did this podcast, trying to get my thoughts out of my head because I can get in my head, of my head, because I can get in my head. My business is not performing, not growing, not fulfilling. I mean, there's so many things that it's not doing, and yet inside me I know that it will. I know that I can and I want to. I want it to succeed. I want to help, and so I got onto that. Okay, so why not quit? Well, pride, no, can't do that. Well, pride, no, can't do that. My pride won't let me.

Speaker 1:

I truly believe that I can really help small business owners. I'm stubborn. I absolutely do fear the judgment of others. I haven't mastered the. I don't care what other people think of me. I'm working on it and for the most part, I don't.

Speaker 1:

But there's still this little bit that I hang on to. I want financial freedom, I want time freedom. There's so many reasons to stick with it, but my, I tell you, my headspace has just not been right, and I'm guessing that you have had this happen in your life. I don't know if it's with your business. It could be a skill you're trying to learn, it could be some hobby that you're trying to become proficient at, but, man, the head has been beating me up and trying to figure out.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so what is it that just has you in this funk that is causing you to be preoccupied with sticking in this stuck state? I tell you, I have been wrapping my head around it because I have been actively disengaging. For those of you that follow me on Instagram, I post just once a week and that's the audiogram for this podcast. I haven't been posting, I've been doing my weekly email, but I am actively detaching from all of the things in my business because I feel like all of that busyness has stopped me from actually dissecting what is really going on and what's what's happening. Why isn't it performing? Because, bottom line, I know that it is me. I take 100 responsibility and ownership that this is not performing, not because I suck, not because I'm incapable of doing it, not because I haven't given it time and energy and effort Although all of those things I could do more, I'm sure.

Speaker 1:

And as I've sat with it and as I've sat with it, the recognition that I've come to is that I have still not discovered the right words to say and how to say them that help you, the small business owner, see yourself and, more importantly, see yourself the problem that is stopping you from having what it is that you want out of your business, which most of you are telling me. It's the freedom to live your life your way and to have the financial, the profit in your business. I haven't figured out how to present things in a way that, yeah, that's me, that's what I want. I want those things coupled with. I can help you, I do have a solution for you. So that's where I've been for the last week, 10 days, two months, and it's just this revolving thought process, and so the conclusion that I've come to is that I need to stop doing the things that are distracting me, stop doing the things that are taking the time and just sit with, okay. So what are the things that I've said that haven't worked? What are ways that I could tweak it? And let's try it again.

Speaker 1:

And I have to tell you there's huge resistance in the trying again, and I know that it's associated with feeling like I've failed because it hasn't done what I've wanted it to do. But that's not fair. I have tried one thing, two things, ten things, and I've discovered that those aren't the things that are necessary in order for my membership to grow, in order for people to feel committed and convicted that the Raving Fan Society is actually going to be able to help them get where they want to go Not rocket science. And yet I beat myself up because I haven't been able to find the right thing, instead of just saying look, rhonda, come up with something, try it, test it. Does it work? No, okay, go back to the drawing board. Instead of it being this huge judgment from myself that I haven't got where I want to go.

Speaker 1:

Does any of that sound familiar to you? Like, have you experienced that in things Like? I know? I have had so many failed loaves of bread, ones that are as flat as pancakes, ones that are as dense as cement, and yet I'm not beating myself up. It's like okay. So I wonder what I did wrong. Let me work through that and think about that.

Speaker 1:

And yet, when it comes to this business, it's like oh, ronna, you just really don't have a clue. Are you being kind to yourself? Have you figured out all of the reasons why you want to keep going? I figured out those reasons. I know what those are. I know that I can help, I know that I can inspire, I know that I can change lives. If I can just get in front of people and give them the program and help them through the program and coach them through the program, things will change and they will change for the better.

Speaker 1:

So here I am this week this was my coming back podcast going hey, I am in it, I'm sticking with it, I'm going to be resilient, I'm going to show my grit and I would love any feedback that you have about ways that you have handled what you perceive as failure or not growing fast enough or not getting the traction you want with your email list or with your social media. You're not getting the leads that you want, Like, bring it on, show me and send me an email, hit me up on the DMs and social media and share. You know what, how it's been for you. I mean, this is, this is me, this is reality. Life is not always roses. Life is not always roses, but life is interesting and it's full of challenges and it's full of decisions and I keep having in my head coming back to me you are where you are because of choices you have made. So I need to make different choices. Different choices with the words that I put in my messaging, different choices with the images that I put in my messaging, different way of communicating with you on this podcast, different way. I felt like I needed to do it for myself, to confirm to myself that no, I'm here.

Speaker 1:

This podcast has been around for three and a half years. I have been committed to this and I am still committed to this. Sure, it hasn't gone the way that I've wanted. My business hasn't grown the way that I've wanted it to, but that's okay. So what are you committed to and what are your becauses? You're not stopping, you are not giving up.

Speaker 1:
